About Me

The adventures of an eternal tourist living and working in London.

I am a South African expat and have been living and working in London since 2007.  In fact, I consider London to be my home now and Johannesburg is merely my vacation-destination of choice.

I began Emm in London back in July 2008 as a means to keep up with my friends and family back home.  It didn’t work as none of them read the blog and when I go back home, they inundate me with questions regarding what I’ve been up to, where I’ve visited and which bands I’ve seen.

This blog has become so much more though.  When we moved to London, I insisted on working in Zone 1, stating that I wanted to see at least one major London attraction each day.  Hence, I work near London Bridge and I see Tower Bridge, The Gherkin and The Shard each day.  The reason behind this was simple: if I was going to live and work in the suburbs, I might as well have stayed at home.

This blog is a chronicle of my life in London, my travels around Great Britain and the journeys I take from here.  It reminds me of what I have seen and achieved when the winter blues kick in and it reminds me each day that I am alive.

I’m quite a passionate person and you can learn a bit more about that passion in my other blogs: Addicted to Media (related to my, um, addiction to all forms of entertainment and media) and A Passion to Understand (in which I explore social and political events such as war, genocide, human rights and equality).

I love to meet new people and make friends through this blog and welcome comments.
